Within the past day I’ve found that two blogs that I manage were hacked using known vulnerabilities in earlier versions of WordPress. Since many others have gone into detailed explanations, such as this, I won’t touch on that here.
What I will say is that is worthwhile to remain diligent when it comes to security upgrades/platform updates for blogging software. No one wants to help the spammers.

Another month gone by since my last post, and I still haven’t managed to write on this blog more than once in a blue moon. My iPhone still rocks, and my web host is still up. I won $80 in an Outwit the Smack over at jellyfish (who were incidentally recently acquired by Microsoft).
On a completely different topic, Leopard (Mac OSX 10.5) came out today, and I must say after a trip to the local Apple store, buying a Mac is becoming more and more appealing. With the recent annoucement that Apple is finally releasing a SDK for the iPhone, I might have to bite the bullet to get all the functionality I can see out of this thing (there better be Notes syncing coming at some point Steve!).

Looks like my hoster has decided that this weekend is a good time to move the servers into some new racks.
Heres the low down:
WHEN: 11:00 PM – 6:30 AM EDT Friday–Saturday September 28th 2007
WHAT: All services will be affected at this time. We will be upgrading our core network and migrate servers from one of our cages to a larger cage. This will help us further organize and improve our service to you as a customer.
I must say that all in all, if they can pull this off, more power to them (as long as I come back up without having to restore from a backup). Working for a company that provides hosting solutions itself, I know what a pain this can be.

Drupal went down hard today. Really hard. I don’t know if it was my hosting company changing things, or just a fluke. In any case, on to WordPress. So far so good…
