Who Needs a Flashlight and a SOCKS Proxy?

Have you ever found yourself sitting with your iPhone and your computer, wondering what the world would be like if you had an app that was multifunctional and acted as both a flashlight and a SOCKS proxy? Yeah, me too.

Head on over to the App Store and grab Handy Light (iTunes link) before it gets pulled. Not only will you get a flashlight, but also an iPhone running iOS4 (inlcuding the iPhone 4) that is capable of tethering to your Mac or PC without a jailbreak.

iTunes Rocks!

Just kidding. iTunes is still on my list of most hated pieces of software due to the results such as the following:

iTunes Error (-4)

If only I could find a way to buy apps when my iPhone is dead and I don’t want to wait to download them. It would be better yet if my iPhone could make it through a full day of use without needing a recharge.

iTunes – Purchase of this item is not currently available

iTunes seems to have all sorts of problems when I use it lately. I was reading TechCrunch earlier this evening and their post regarding the best Apps of 2008 (for the iTunes App Store). Dr. Awesome was looked like a good buy. Of course, upon attempting to purchase this supposedly exciting game, I am greeted with the following error message:

itunes_dg_sm

I say supposedly exciting, because in the end, the developer lost out on a sale. I was unable to purchase this product when I wanted to. What is the point of having an instant delivery platform such as the App Store, when I ultimately cannot purchase items? Along with all of the other issues the iTunes App Store seems to exhibit, this is one the most egregious, as I am unable to fulfill my needs for instant gratification (no matter how hard I try). Oh, and I’d like to be able to use my Shopping Cart for Apps at some point also.
