Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) 4.0
Microsoft has just released the latest version of their Operations Framework (v. 4.0). For those not familiar with MOF, the best place to start would be the implementation guide. While some parts of might seem simplistic at first, it does help to evaluate against your current operational processes. For instance, when implementing standard changes, can you or staff truly validate all of the changes that occur within your IT organization in a consistent manner? And are those verification processes (or even how to implement a standard change) known to your organization as a whole? Better yet, does your organization have a definition for standard changes?
Background
MOF 4.0 is practical guidance for IT organizations. With the release of version 4.0, MOF now reflects a single, comprehensive IT service lifecycle—it helps IT professionals connect service management principles to everyday IT tasks and activities and ensures alignment between IT and the business.
